In a housing cooperative, there must be a financial plan. The plan should contain information that is significant for assessing the cooperative's operations.
A financial plan is usually prepared when a housing cooperative buys a new property or during the conversion to a housing cooperative.
The plan must be registered with the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverket) before the apartments are allocated as housing cooperatives.
If significant changes occur in the cooperative after the financial plan has been registered, which affect the assessment of the cooperative's operations, the cooperative cannot allocate housing cooperatives until a new financial plan has been prepared and registered with Bolagsverket.
Before the financial plan is registered with Bolagsverket, it must be reviewed by two independent certifiers certified by the National Board of Housing, Building, and Planning (Boverket) who are responsible for verifying the factual information in the plan and assessing whether the plan is financially sustainable.
